Mia is 13 now but about a year and a half ago, I didn't think she was going to see 12 yrs. She obviously wasn't feeling good and the vet had taken blood and confirmed that her liver was inflamed. This worried me because I knew that her sire had died at a fairly young age due to liver failure. They did an exploratory surgery because they felt something that just wasn't quite right. It turned out to be a strange lump but nothing they were overly concerned about at that time. They did confirm that her liver was indeed inflamed.
With antibiotics and special food with instructions that she would be on this for the rest of her life.....I just knew that there had to be an alternative, especially having to feed the food that she just hated. I started to give her a high phytonutrient supplement called "JuvaPower" on her regular food and the enzymes called "Detoxyme", both made by a company in Utah far ahead of their time for nutritional supplements. I saw an immediate improvement. I continue to give her these as well as BLM since she is an old girl but don't tell her that, she still climbs on top of the kitchen table whenever the opportunity presents itself which means, make sure you slide your chair up to the table *smile*
