Life at Romeacres

Here it is..almost Christmas and again I am wondering what to buy who.....I think my parents will be the easiest and guess I had better do it soon since I will see them tomorrow. At least I got a tree and lights up well before Christmas this year and yes, I even got all of my cards out and hopefully all of you have received a cute little post card from me that have a puppy from me;0)  I do so enjoy these pictures from you. This is Bijou. She lives in Nova Scotia with a marvelous family who sends me many pictures.  This is one of my favorites and really makes my Christmas!      I try not to have puppies on or around Christmas even though people tend to want them then but..It is just too stressful of a time for people and puppies and besides, I would be tempted to use puppy money for Christmas instead of the needs of the dogs that I have here at home.  Since many have retired to the couch, it makes it even more imparative to care for their needs.  Frosty has a bad elbow and needs a supplement that is quite costly but, I was not able to get it this month since the last puppy I sold was 2 weeks ago (and before that was Sept) and it was time to buy dog food.   They are all in need of new beds but....perhaps after Christmas will be a better time.  I wonder at the sanity of going to Philedalphia this January for my annual get away to have a look at the new crop of cockers in the ring.  Who is producing the best prodigy etc.  As much as I hate to come up with the extra money, which undoubtedly will be by credit card, it is a well needed trip after taking care of so many here at Romeacres.  The 5 D's keep me hopping so just sitting here at my computer, drinking a cup of coffee is heaven but, pretty soon, Dan and Dale will be up wanting breakfast, then Delores will soon follow and of course, the dogs have already been demanding their morning tidbits.  The deer require little care from me right now until the fawning season when once again I will be on a 3 hour feeding schedule.  Alas, the 5 D's in my life.  Yes, I will look forward to that little 3 day get away to visit friends from near and far.  I may pitch in to help Melinda ready some of her dogs as I find that it is quite fun when I don't have the stress of doing my own dogs at a major show.  I have taken the year off of showing to pay down my show bills but I think at this rate, it is going to take two ~~~

Our whole family was delighted to see a picture of Bijou with her stuffed friend on you site. We had a delightful Christmas with our children and grand children. There were a few challenges but nothing serious. Will write again later and send you some pictures.
