Dale had a few things under the tree yesterday but our Christmas with all the kids isn't until Saturday so he will get the rest then.  Even though Dale is 32, he is more like age 7 complete with all of the self serving motives of a child.  It is sometimes difficult to deal with and can be quite trying at times since he cannot be trusted alone with animals or play alone in his room, he is constantly with my self or my husband.

The dogs were happy since I didn't order enough treats so I tried my hand at baking them some.  I really couldn't find a recipe that I was totally happy with so I kind of made up my own so their treats are made of oatmeat, rye flour, apples, flax seeds, egg yolk and parsley with a bit of cinnamon.   My husband had to try them and actually ate a few with milk LOL!   I told him that they would be good for him since he is type 2 diabetic, he can't have too much sugar.   If he eats properly and in proportion, he doesn't even have to take medication.   I really need to work on better food choice but have you noticed that the more healthy you eat, the more expensive it is????  I usually end up having to buy quantity instead of quality since with Dale, who's matabolism is soooooo quick, he requires about 5,000 calories a day just to keep his weight over 100 and no, we don't receive any food assistance for him but I think I may have to apply for it since after all, the dogs are eating better than any of us!  The things that I don't compromise on though is buying anything that is processed.  I don't buy sugar, I use either agave or stevia, an herbal sweetener of which both have a low glycemic index that is great for insulin resistant people.  We do however, eat a LOT of whole wheat bread.  That is where most of our calories come from along with eggs.

The New Year is coming quickly!
