AAAHHHH, somebody stop this nonsense!
My fawns are still going. One is doing very well and the other one is just barely hanging on. I call him "Miracle" as it is only by the grace of God that he continues. Sally had such an infection going on that I don't think these guys were being fed for a while, at least nothing that they could grow on.
The other one decided to escape off the balcony which is 12' off the ground. Can you say "lucky buck"? That one survived but ONLY because God saved him but he did break his front leg in 2 places.
I am so tired since I have to feed every 2-3 hours. I have to monitor the heat on the one plus run the blow dryer (dog stand dryer) 8-10 minuts several times a day to keep his body temperature up (which is why I built a screen house on my deck so they could be in the sun but.....fawns are determined creatures). After he jumped and broke his leg, he ran to the deer fence gate trying to get in. I guess I am thankful that the other one can't stand on his own..yet. He may not have been so blessed!
I need to go to bed as it will be feeding time again all too soon.
I get 15 guineas and 4 peafowl babies tomorrow. The peafowl we are hoping will go right under our peahen who has been sitting her eggs in vain for the past few months.
nighty night!
