AAHHHH, little puppies after 6 mths of no puppies but of course, that was ok because I still had quite a few puppies from my December litter of NINE! LOL!
Phoebe came so close to a C-section this time. I had the vet on call because she just wasn't producing in a timely manner.
Phoebe was the one that I really wanted to breed to one of Hartline buff champion dogs who has been producing very nicely but, 4 days before I got her there, she slipped in Dillon's run from the OUTSIDE. So, 4 puppies from that single tie wasn't bad but the poor girl had 4 GIANT puppies as they had a lot of room to GROW! I finally felt a puppy in the shoot and talked with the vet about administering the Oxytosin so I did and she had the biggest 4 puppies I have seen in a long time. Average weight for a cocker puppy newborn is 6-7 oz. These babies were over 10 oz. It was no wonder she had a bit of a struggle to pass them.
Just glad they are here and healthy. All doing well.
