Some good news finally. Our herd is free from parasites/bacteria diseases. MSU found nothing nor did our vet. We have to believe that since there was evidence of a parasite load previously, that the deer were run down enough by it that when fawning season came, it stressed them beyond their limit. We are seeing a turn around since taking them off of grain and putting them on pellets, hay and haylage (fresh cut hay). We started top dressing their feed with rice bran and probiotics. Sally actually had a firmer stool than she has had in a long time. She looks like she may even be putting on some weight.
It has taken a toll on our resources so we have taken the vehicles off of full coverage. Turned off our home phone long distance, shut off our dish network. All in the hopes of being able to keep our animals fed well. The puppies haven't been selling for the amount needed to keep the dogs cared for so having to compromise a bit there. Still need the funds to get one of the rescues heartworm treatment and neutered. I hate to have to put him down as he is a good dog out of my "Bugs" that passed away a couple of years ago from rancid dog food complications.
I am glad the grandkids are coming back this weekend. We had such fun camping out with them in the backyard along with the neighbor girl who has been friend's with our grandkids for quite a while as she lived across the street before the kids lost their home.
The fawn upstairs is doing well. They left his splint on one more week so it is finally coming off for good tomorrow.
