What a traumatic week!
My darling little Critter went off to his new home on Monday only he didn't quite get there as they stopped off at their parent's house to change vehicles and Critter freaked and slipped his collar. It was late at night and so they tried to catch him only to have him disappear into the woods of which this area was nothing but! He was spotted the next morning but wouldn't be caught as he ran through the woods to the road behind. I went up the following day but there was no sign of him so I decided to leave his brother and my jacket in the hopes that they would draw him back. Well, for 3 more days, sightings came in farther afield from good neighbors who had received flyers and there were so many people out looking, driving around, radio, newspaper ads and even his brother making scent everywhere but Critter would just keep running. Saturday morning I got the phone call that I had been hoping/fearing as to it's outcome. Critter had been spotted in a garage where a woman had left the service door open. When she went to close it, she realized what or who was inside and was excited that she was the one to finally catch the illusive Critter who had the whole area looking for him (which was like looking for a needle in a haystack, it was just that thick). Only God could make it so and we are so thankful and grateful for the kind folks in Holland Mi.
Critter was happy to be reunited with his brother and gave lots of cuddles and came when called within their home. He laid on everyone's lap while they combed the burrs from his fur. Last I heard he was headed for the bath.
I can't believe how exhausted I am from worry and the efforts of that whole family (were talking parents, grandparents and then some) who all spent countless hours searching as they felt so horrible that he had gotten away from them and knowing that he had no bonding ties to anyone or anything there yet.
Yes, God is good.
